Oh, Colorado. There's so many good things to say about this state, and our team couldn't be more thrilled to be joining Denver's outdoor community with the opening of our newest store in Cherry Creek. A trip to Colorado wouldn't be complete without a hike or adventure around town, so we asked Denver-based photographer Samuel Lucas Gove to show us his top places to visit for the ultimate Coloradoan experience.

"Denver is home, but it's also my gateway into the west," Sam says. "It is the tool which allows me to live the life I dreamed. As a photographer, it provides a hardworking lifestyle, but with no boundaries for how far I can to take it. Growing up in the countryside gave me a love for the outdoors, and here in Denver I am lucky enough to feed this love daily in both work and pleasure."

We commissioned Sam to photograph his adventure along with a few travel essentials for his trip. Take a look at some of his favorite moments below and be sure to show us where your Shinola products travel by tagging your photos with #TravelWithShinola.

Sam brought The Runwell Sport Chrono 48mm on his trip. (pictured above) "It is nice to have something elegant, but timeless in design. The watch itself is a welcome addition to my daily look and constant change in topographical location."

"Hikers can be seen traversing the jagged boulders at the top of Mt. Evans, the highest point in the Rocky Mountains, Chicago Peak Range."

Left: "The Colorado River is one of the great waterways of the Southwestern United States, it begins in the Central Colorado Rockies and crosses seven states before ending in North Western Mexico. I leapt 60 feet from the tallest cliff into its freezing waters. The swift current carried me for a great distance before I was able to swim ashore."

Right: "The Tower of Memories can be seen rising up over the landscape just west of Denver."

"A herd of mountain goats are seen shedding their extra wool from atop Mt. Evans, one of the highest peaks in the Colorado front range. Evans is also home to the highest paved road in North America, which is popular amongst tourist and locals alike," Sam says.

"Snowmelt from the surrounding peaks rushes past my legs somewhere along Guanella Pass, Colorado."

"Denver is home but its also my gateway into the west," he says. "It is the tool which allows me to live the life I dreamed. As a photographer, it provides a hardworking lifestyle, but with no boundaries for how far I can take it. Growing up in the countryside gave me a love for the outdoors, and here in Denver I am lucky enough to feed this love daily in both work and pleasure."

Left: "With so much gear in my life, the Bolt Bifold Wallet was a perfect integration for function and style. The multiple card slots and large pocket for carrying cash on the run is a solid choice for my chaotic lifestyle."

Right: "Looking out over Berthoud Pass from atop Winter Park Resort."

"The weather can change from out of nowhere in the mountains," Sam says. "One minute I am soaking away in the bright Colorado sunshine and the next minute I'm rushing from a storm to find shelter. I must be prepared for any conditions which are thrown my way. Learning and utilizing survival knowledge is an adventure in its own right."

"Time will tell where the next adventure will be. From Colorado and beyond, The Runwell Sport Chrono 48mm is an adaptation of style and class."

"The sun sets over Denver's Union Station, a historic locale which provides urban dwellers the opportunity to travel by train throughout the United States."
