Be inspired to explore new frontiers with the limited-edition Moon Bean timepiece, the latest release in our Great Americans Series. Alan Bean, the fourth person to set foot on the Moon, was also known for painting lunar landscapes influenced by his adventures in space. In loving memory of his legacy, every detail of this limited-edition chronograph is a tribute to the artist-astronaut, including a noteworthy caseback with a textured representation of Bean's painting Kissing the Earth. The vibrant blue details of the 45mm timepiece are purposeful, reflecting the same hue as the labeling for the astronaut’s Apollo 12 belongings. As a final touch, the 19 and 20 on the date ring are also highlighted to signify the dates of Alan Bean’s arrival on the Moon and then departure: 11.19.69 and 11.20.69, respectively. In addition to the watch, the gift set includes his thoughtfully-designed book of artwork, a black nylon G10 strap and a custom pouch complete with strap-changing tools.

The Argonite 5040.F is the most complex movement our watch team has ever assembled. This chronograph features three sub dials, a dual calendar aperture, fourth date hand and powerful, long-lasting battery.
Chronograph: A watch with stopwatch function to measure elapsed time while continuing to display conventional time, often using independent sub dials operated by start, stop and reset push-pieces.
Built from sandblasted stainless steel, the case for the 45mm timepiece has a matte black ceramic bezel with coin edge detailing. The caseback elevates the design with a textured depiction of Bean’s painting Kissing the Earth. His signature is also engraved on the caseback.
Built using a top loaded construction technique, the open dial viewing creates a classic, clean look. This black dial is punctuated by three sub dials and a dual calendar aperture. Simple blue details like the watch hands are a nod to the labeling color of Bean’s belongings on the Apollo 12 mission. The 19 and 20 on the date ring are highlighted to signify the dates he landed on and left the moon: 11.19.69 and 11.20.69, respectively.
The Moon Bean gift set comes with two straps for the timepiece: a quick-release tan leather strap that is easily removeable and a black G10 nylon strap. Strap changing tools are included.
Delivered in a beautiful keepsake box, this gift set features the limited-edition Moon Bean timepiece, Bean’s book Alan Bean: Painting Apollo, a custom pouch with strap changing tools and a black G10 nylon strap.
