Oh, Colorado. There’s so many good things to say about this state, and our team couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining Denver’s outdoor community with the opening of our newest store in Cherry Creek. A trip to Colorado wouldn’t be complete without a hike or adventure around town, so we asked Denver-based photographer Samuel Lucas Gove to show us his top places to visit for the ultimate Coloradoan experience.
“Denver is home, but it’s also my gateway into the west,” Sam says. “It is the tool which allows me to live the life I dreamed. As a photographer, it provides a hardworking lifestyle, but with no boundaries for how far I can to take it. Growing up in the countryside gave me a love for the outdoors, and here in Denver I am lucky enough to feed this love daily in both work and pleasure.”

Left: “The Colorado River is one of the great waterways of the Southwestern United States, it begins in the Central Colorado Rockies and crosses seven states before ending in North Western Mexico. I leapt 60 feet from the tallest cliff into its freezing waters. The swift current carried me for a great distance before I was able to swim ashore.”

“A herd of mountain goats are seen shedding their extra wool from atop Mt. Evans, one of the highest peaks in the Colorado front range. Evans is also home to the highest paved road in North America, which is popular amongst tourist and locals alike,” Sam says.

“The weather can change from out of nowhere in the mountains,” Sam says. “One minute I am soaking away in the bright Colorado sunshine and the next minute I’m rushing from a storm to find shelter. I must be prepared for any conditions which are thrown my way. Learning and utilizing survival knowledge is an adventure in its own right.”
