A Tour Through Venice — Our New Neighborhood

BY Taylor Rebhan

Tiny house dweller Whitney Leigh Morris lives in a Craftsman-style 362 square-foot home along the Venice Beach Canals and knows the city like the back of her hand. To help us get acquainted with our new neighborhood, we asked Whitney to show us around. #Lovemycity

Check out the dreamy scenes she captured below and don’t forget to come say hello at our new Venice store (1623 Abbot Kinney Blvd)!

“Venice is best explored on a bike, skateboard or by foot. You can stroll along the canals every day and always discover something new. The architecture varies drastically in style—from tiny, perfectly imperfect early-1900s Craftsman bungalows, to ultra-modern, indoor-outdoor eco-friendly behemoths.”

“Venice is overflowing with creative little businesses that support a diverse array of lifestyles and tastes. I love this nook of a shop, Flowerboy Project. It’s the perfect place to scoop up an armful of fresh or dried flowers, and fill your travel mug with Vittoria Coffee.”

“Time in Venice is best spent outside — from the beach to the canals to the nearby marina. (Keep your eyes open for dolphins, sea lions and whales.)”

“One of the many reasons to visit Venice. The canals neighborhood is an extraordinary place. Built over 100 years ago by Abbot Kinney, the waterways stretched for miles throughout Venice. When cars became more popular and available, the majority of the canals were filled in for paved roads. Luckily, some of this historic district survived.”

See you in Venice (1623 Abbot Kinney Blvd)!
