A JOURNAL BY SHINOLA DEDICATED TO JOY OF CRAFT

#LoveMyCity London with Garconjon

BY Taylor Rebhan

Jonathan Daniel Price, better known as Garconjon, is a London-based photographer specializing in fashion and street photography. In 2014, he launched a project we connected closely with called Man/Men: Manufacturing Menswear, a journal of British craftsmanship that profiles the industry leaders behind British manufacturing and high quality menswear still being produced in the UK. We asked Jonathan to show us around the town he calls home, and discovered a few secrets within walking distance of our London store. #LoveMyCity

Park Street, Borough Market: “Park Street at Borough Market is one of my favourites in London because it’s like stepping back in time. It has a few of my favorite stores (Paul Smith, Cubitts, Monmouth Coffee), while being a 30 second jaunt from the freshest food in the city.”

V&A Museum (left): “In London we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to museums, but the V&A always inspires without fail. Their photography department is incredible and I loved the recent exhibition with Alex Soth.”

Little House Mayfair (right): “The perfect place for breakfast in central London. I tend to meet clients here as it’s not too packed during the week. I love that they do regular talks too.”

Shoreditch House (left): “When I’m not shooting I tend to take my work to Shoreditch House. It’s got the perfect space and light inside and is quiet enough to really get work done.”

St Martins in the Field (right): “The churches that stand around some of the cities busiest locations remind me of a London that no longer exists. I walk past this one regularly and always think it’s so regal and strong beside the tourist filled Trafalgar Square.”
