A JOURNAL BY SHINOLA DEDICATED TO JOY OF CRAFT

Find out what makes our Bicycles so unique

BY Taylor Rebhan

The frames and forks for both The Runwell and The Bixby are fabricated by Wisconsin-based outfit, Waterford Precision Cycles. A family-owned shop, they have earned an international reputation for building exceptional frames and forks.

But what makes a Waterford frame unique? The quality of the steel they use is obviously important, but there’s more to it than that—producing a lightweight steel frame that precisely balances durability and comfort is an art form, and the craftspeople at Waterford have spent decades perfecting their craft.

For an in-depth look at the fabrication process that goes into every Shinola frame and fork, as well as the bicycle assembly process in our Detroit workshop, watch the video above.
