Your Detrola watch was designed to be lived in, worn out, and well-loved; in this article we'll share some tips for extending the life of your watch while keeping it looking and performing its best along the way.

The Detrola collection is made from materials that differ from our core style watches and should be treated with care:

TR-90 Resin (Case Material)
K1 Mineral Crystal
Silicone Strap
Ocean Bound Plastic (Case & Woven Strap - Sea Creature)

TR-90 Resin (Case Material)	TR-90 resin is susceptible to: Scratches Scuffs Cracking	Avoid heat - Resin is technically a plastic; high heat is the easiest way to cause cracking Avoid storing your watch in direct sunlight Avoid hot showers - or wearing your watch in a jacuzzi Avoid sharp and abrasive items - Items such as keys, coins, tools can cause scratches to the surface
Ocean Bound Plastic (Case Material)	Ocean Bound Plastic is susceptible to: Scratches Scuffs Cracking If dropped on a hard surface or against a hard edge, there is risk of breaking	Avoid heat - high heat is the easiest way to cause cracking Avoid storing your watch in direct sunlight Avoid hot showers - or wearing your watch in a jacuzzi Avoid sharp and abrasive items Items such as keys, coins, tools can cause scratches to the surface
K-1 Mineral Crystal	K1 Mineral Crystal is susceptible to: Cracking Scratching Scuffing	Avoid heat - Heat can cause the TR-90 resin case to expand and then later contract which may crack the crystal Always store properly - store your Detrola in a watch box or soft cloth case Avoid sharp and abrasive items - items such as keys, coins, tools can cause scratches to the surface Avoid dropping - or allowing your watch to absorb heavy shocks
# Tide Ocean Material Yarn Strap	# Tide Ocean Material Yarn is susceptible to: Discoloration & Staining Fraying	Avoid extended exposure to water and chemicals - to help prevent fraying and discoloration Clean your watch strap - regularly take the watch off your wrist wash the strap with water, rinse thoroughly and dry it well with a towel before putting it back on
Silicone Straps	Silicone straps are susceptible to: Tearing Thinning Developing a scent	Avoid extended exposure to water and chemicals - to help prevent tearing Avoid sudden changes in temperature Rinse your watch strap - regularly take the watch off your wrist wash the strap with water, rinse thoroughly and dry it well with a towel before putting it back on Especially important after activities like a heavy workout Clean your watch strap - to remove build-up of lotions and oils (such as sunscreen, insect repellent and moisturizers)
