The result of over six years of work, this book by documentary photographer and architectural historian, Julia Reyes Taubman features more than 30,000 photographs taken on the ground, in the air and by water across the sprawled terrain of Detroit. An extended caption section created in collaboration with Taubman and University of Michigan professors Robert Fishman and Michael McCulloch emphasizes the social imperatives driving Taubman's documentation.
