We currently offer leather, rubber, nylon and cloth straps for our timepieces in addition to metal bracelets.
Every leather watch strap from Shinola is cut and sewn in the United States. While we do work with several U.S. vendors, most of our leather straps are crafted in our Detroit Leather Factory.
For our rubber straps, we’ve partnered with Stern Rubber Company in Staples, Minnesota. The company has produced rubber-molding products for over 40 years. Starting with a nitrile rubber base, the standard for luxury watch straps, they developed a custom formula tailored to meet the high-quality performance standards demanded by Shinola. The rubber is hand mixed and molded—to achieve a refined look and feel.
We import both our nylon and metal. The Shinola nylon straps are cut and sewn in our Detroit Leather Factory.
For our Tin Cloth straps, we purchase the material directly from Filson. The thick cotton canvas is milled in Scotland and coated in Filson’s oil-finish wax. The straps are then cut and sewn by one of our U.S. vendors.
