It's a Runwell unlike any other inspired by a statue with deep meaning. As a longstanding symbol of freedom and hope, the Statue of Liberty was a natural choice for the latest release in our Great Americans Series. Shinola is honored to partner with The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. to present a limited-edition 41mm timepiece that pays homage to this iconic monument. While no detail is forgotten, the true treasure of the watch is the caseback which celebrates Lady Liberty with a raised depiction of her torch. Fitted with a premium quick-release leather strap in bourbon, this unique collectible is as remarkable and durable as the gatekeeper of this great country.

The copper layer on the Statue of Liberty is as thick as two stacked pennies, yet the structural design of the statue has stood tall and strong for decades. The Statue of Liberty timepiece is built to emulate that strength with simple details representative of the monument like the copper-toned crown tip. On the concave ring, Liberty Enlightening the World is engraved. It was the name given to the statue by its sculptor, Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi. Beautiful details elevate this watch, but the main highlight is the caseback featuring Lady Liberty's torch with raised flames in rose gold PVD.
Every single detail of the Statue of Liberty watch was designed to pay tribute to the historic national monument. The warm gray dial has a rough texture to emulate the concrete base of the statue while the hands and indices shine with copper tones. The main dial also features a calendar aperture for keeping track of the date.
Smooth and sophisticated, this premium leather strap in bourbon is the perfect complement to this timepiece. It's cut and sewn in America, and removable in case you'd like to customize the timepiece with the purchase of an additional strap.
Quick Release: Fitted with quick release pins, this strap is easy to change. No tools required. Watch the tutorial here.
As a fitting tribute, each timepiece is beautifully packaged in a slim copper box lined with soft felt. The sleeve, reflecting the same hue as oxidized copper, is accented with embossed rays inspired by Lady Liberty’s crown—all of which radiate from the die cut centerpiece modeled after the statue’s pedestal.
